School Boards have a positive
impact on teacher contract
negotiations, on increasing the
learning by students of all
backgrounds? These and other
issues will be discussed at the
following event:
"Baltimore City and Baltimore
County Schools Today: The View
from the School Board" will be a
program on Thursday evening,
February 10th, featuring Lisa
Akchin, currentBaltimore City
School Board member who is
Associate Vice President and
Assistant to the President, UMBC
and Mike Bowler, current
Baltimore County school board
member who is former education
editor of the Baltimore Sun and
spent several years in the U.S.
Department of Education.
This interesting education event
will be held at the Rolling Road
Golf Club starting at 6:00 p.m.
with an open bar; 6:30 p.m. for
dinner, cost $15 and 7:00 p.m.
for the talk and discussion.
