Bruce V. gave the inspiration
Russ gave us the world of
Rotary- about 4 clubs in Vietnam
banding together for a clinic in
Saigon
Announcements

Thanksgiving
-December 2 is the first evening
meeting and will be held at

Thanks Joe and Cindy Loverde

is working with Assistant
District Gov. Alvin Thompson to
make it happen
- Café on the Grove is closed
next Wed. so the meeting will be
at Rolling Road—thanks Joe.
-Richard is now in position as
Vice-president and will serve
out the remainder of Joe’s term.
-Richard spoke and gave us some
great ideas for next year:
building a herd of cows for our
friends in Bani, expanding the
Bani project to include medical
supplies and even medicines are
just two of his ideas.
Happy $$
-George gave for hearing Cal on
WBAL yesterday discussing health
care
-Susan for the return of her law
clerk from maternity leave and
because she has found a new (and
old) secretary.
-Brent used his happy dollar
credit and told us a story about
country doctors who saved his
role as best man by providing
excellent medical care.
-Richard for the upcoming
legislative fundraiser on Sat.
night. He has some extra tickets
if anyone wants some-only $10.
each
Doug- gave acknowledging that he
has been a member now for 1
year!
Guest speaker
Today’s guest speaker was Tara
Baldwin of the Wellness Center
on Bloomsbury Ave. She is a
certified life coach. While I
missed the program because I had
to leave early, per Doug, she
discussed taking better care of
our bodies by eating better, and
by introducing more fruits and
vegetables, fish and Omega 3’s
to our diet for a longer and
healthier life.
Larry won the 50/50
13 members present. See you all
next week- at ROLLING ROAD

Club Meeting November 18
Catonsville Sunrise Rotary
Meeting minutes- November 18,
2009
CLUB BUSINESS MEETING
-Rosemary gave a great
inspiration
-Jonathan gave the Rotary minute
about how after spending
millions of dollars on research,
RI has concluded that the best
way to build a strong club is
through local networking and
service projects. Wow, imagine
that.
Happy $$
-Larry needed assistance from
Tom’s grandkids for how to turn
on his new cell phone
-Jonathan told us how tan,
rested and ready he is after a
great vacation in Jamaica with
the whole family
-Susan plugged her weekend in NY
full of shows and also her
upcoming vacation in HI. Have a
great trip!
-Tom talked about how his
grandson got his boot off
-Eric was happy that his father
completed proton therapy for
prostate cancer and that he is
headed to Key West for a few
days with just Betsy- no kids
-Richard threw in a $20 and
discussed, the invasion from the
south of black squirrels, his
bags of leaves, his finally
found backup copy of his book.
Hey Richard, when can we get
copies?
Announcements: Russ spoke at
length about the Operation
Welcome Home program. He said
the best way to learn about it
is through the website:

Business
1. Cal gave us an update on
where we are with the Race wrap
up and how he has reached out to
at least one other race
management company and expects
to talk to several more before
negotiation of the final bill
with Charm City. Hopefully,
final race figures will be
available soon.
2. The dictionary project was
discussed on a limited basis. We
are looking for potential
sponsors to help offset the cost
of the dictionaries since
Huntington has backed out
completely at this point.
3. Brent mentioned expansion of
the dictionary project to our
friends in Bani who have
expressed interest
4. There is no update on the
potential merger with the
evening club but several of
their members will be at the
evening meeting on December 2,
at Rolling Road @ 6PM. Please
RSVP to Joe Loverde if you have
not already. It should be a fun
evening. Joe and Cindy have
offered to cover the cost of
this event but the club will
reimburse them for the members
of our club who attend.
5. Richard gave us an update on
the tree canopy project and
mentioned that they are looking
for a 501 (C) (3) to run it
through. After some discussion,
Susan made a motion that was
seconded by me for a vote to
have our foundation act in that
capacity. Once Larry left, a
vote was taken and the motion
passed. Richard will give us a
full presentation soon but the
plantings will occur in the
Spring of 2010.
Doug was the big winner of the
50/50 today.
We had 12 members in attendance.
Please remember, there is NO
MEETING next week because of
Thanksgiving. The next meeting
is the evening event at rolling
Road at 6PM.
See you all then.
